Barlow X Factor judge and Take That singer Gary Barlow is rapidly moving into ‘National Treasure’ territory, what with his OBE, his rugged good looks, family-man values and his good works for charidee…
And it’s his exceptionally good work in creating Sing, the track which of course celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, that he’s set to be honoured by way of a Brit Award for Best International Song next year.The Sun reports, “Gary has made the Brits longlist for the prize because he recruited artists from around the Commonwealth to perform on the commemorative song and album, which was released in June.”
The lyrics for Sing were of course written by Gary who subsequently travelled the commonwealth recruiting singers and musicians to add to the track. The final version of Sing was given its premiere in May this year on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
